Introducing our Inaugural Eye Health Awareness Day, August 13, 2026!
This is a day to honor and recognize the dedicated professionals, tireless volunteers, sighted guides and of course our Visually Impaired Persons (VIPs!). Come and join us at Polar Park and listen to Jim and Jack describe the game and pre-game activities! We’re planning to have a parade of all of these folks, beginning at Gate A, and walking down Larry Luchino Way to the concourse. The 2025 International Optician of the Year will throw out a ceremonial first pitch, and we’ll recognize others who have given so much to the field of eye health.
=> Arrive when the gates open at 5:45 pm, and go to the gathering area inside Gate A
Enter at Gate A if possible (this may be impractical for some, especially paratransit riders).
=> We will gather there and start the parade at approximately 6 pm.
=> Ceremonial first pitch shortly thereafter, recognition of several individuals, and first pitch of the game at 6:45 pm.
Our theme is Take Me Out To The Ballgame!
We have tickets available at a slight discount for the group, AND we invite you to bring a VIP to the game!
When you purchase your tickets, you will have the option of buying a ticket for a VIP. If you’re bringing a VIP to the game, just include the VIP in your ticket order.
Don’t know a VIP, but want to donate a ticket to one that needs a ticket? You can select that option as well, and the VIP ticket will be directed to us to distribute to VIPs that want to come to the game.
You’ll find the option to buy a VIP ticket at the Order Summary page – so we can direct the VIP ticket to the group of folks using these donated tickets.
We want to make sure that all VIPs have a seasoned sighted guide, and with your donated tickets, we’ll pair the VIP with a guide.
We will recognize your donation with a thank you letter, attribution on our web site, and a shout out from Jim and Jack during the game.
